- Skills (listed on next page) are taught through reading

- No permanently defined reading groups. I will divide the class into 2 or 3 groups to discuss and teach,
use whole group studies, and work with individuals.
- Independent reading in class
- Book reports - Book sharing - one per month beginning in October.
- Independent eading at home with a reading log. (First check is Tuesday, Sept. 30)
- Reading happens all day, not just at a specific time.
- Newspaper, Weekly Reader
- Reading folder (examples)
-define terms - author information - use a skill with a literature book (plot, setting, etc.)
- Teacher reads to students, Mr. Pace reads to the class one day each week
- Reading Buddies - second graders paired with fifth graders
